- There are other sensitive parts of the body that you could aim for such the groin (ouch!), shins, solar plexus, under the nose, and knees. Back of the neck and calves are great ways to cause the assailant severe pain.
- Always use your free hand for blocking. You can even use your other hand as a weapon to jab your assailant in the eye. Be quick like a cat!
- When you strike your weapon downward this gives you the space to get out of the way and move away from the attacker. You can then take this opportunity to run away.
- It is important to remember to not put yourself in any more danger than necessary. Stick to the basics or you will be in serious trouble.
Kubotan Pressure Points and Effective Strike Locations
There are specific pressure points that allow you to inflict more pain on your assailant with your Kubotan. Below you can see a diagram of the exact pressure points to target using a Kubotan so you get them right every time.
Here is a list of some general pressure points that will cause serious pain when you strike with a Kubotan.
- Top of the head
- Front of the shoulder muscle.
- Eyes, nose, temple, and top of the head.
- Throat, armpit, nipple, and heart.
- Skull, spine, back of the neck.
It also has been proven effective to study pressure points on your own body so you are prepared if there ever is an attack. While you can practice these pressure points on yourself, don’t do it when you are having a bad day. No need to hurt yourself.
